Our story
Why we built Friends of School.
Friends of School started with a parents' WhatsApp group — the kind every school has, where a permission slip, a kit list, or a ticket link would appear once and then disappear under a hundred other messages, impossible to find again a week later. Buying a ticket to the summer fair meant catching someone at the school gate with cash, because there was nowhere else to do it. A child's outgrown blazer sat in a cupboard because there was no easy way to find the family who needed it next. We built Friends of School to fix exactly those small, everyday frictions: a searchable place for school news, tickets parents can buy from their phone, and a proper marketplace for preloved uniform — so no PTA has to run itself out of a chat thread.
